We’re once again bringing back the Douglass Park Beautification Initiative this year in an effort to give back to our community. This year’s park cleanups will occur on June 10, July 23, and August 4. Volunteers will be rewarded for their time with tickets to Riot Fest 2022.

These dates each host two additional community initiatives: our Douglass Park Job Fairs (where we hire temporary, paid positions for the festival) and Riot Fest’s annual Community Ticket Registration (where locals who live within a four-block radius of Douglass Park can register for complimentary admission to Riot Fest 2022).  Volunteer sign-ups are now live; Job Fair applications are available to download below. Read below for hours, location, and more information.

Every year, Riot Fest welcomes area residents to attend the festival. Once again, the festival is inviting Douglass Park neighbors to come out and enjoy this year’s Riot Fest, September 16–18, free of charge.

During the above times, a tent will be set up near the corner of Ogden Ave. and S. Sacramento Dr. in Douglass Park. Area residents who are interested in attending for free can come to this tent with the following items to confirm they live in the neighborhood:

✶   Driver’s License, State-Issued ID, or Passport

✶   2 pieces of official mail showing proof of residency (i.e. recent bank statement, utility bill, insurance card, pay stub)

In order to receive free admission, residents must meet the following requirements:

✶   Must live within four block radius of Douglass Park

✶   Boundaries are W. Arthington St. to the north, S. Spaulding Ave. to the west, W. Cermak Rd. to the south, and S. Rockwell St. to the east.

✶   In order to qualify, residents must register for free admission prior to event.

We’re seeking residents from North Lawndale and Douglass Park-adjacent communities to work in temporary positions during this year’s festival. Online applications will be available soon. These temporary positions are available in various departments.

Jobs include, but aren’t limited to: General Labor; Information Services; Event Set-Up/Tear-Down; Gate Attendants; Grounds Maintenance; Sanitation & Trash Removal; ID/Wristband Checkers; On-Call General Staff.

Please note: Applicants must be at least 18 years old, be able to stand for at least 8 hours, and be able to work in an outdoor environment.

Online applications can be found HERE. If you are not attending one of our three Community Job Fairs, you may either fill it out and email it—along with the required paperwork listed below—to [email protected], or fill out an application online.

A sign-up area will be stationed near the intersection of Ogden and Sacramento.
